Work Experience

Year 10, 11 and Sixth Form students

We offer week-long work experience placements to students in years 10 and 11 and Sixth Form. Students take part in carousel placements that enable them to experience work in different departments to see how they all contribute to a production going onstage.

When can I come on work experience?

This academic year we are able to offer work experience placements in the following weeks:

2018

23 April

7 May (starting on Tuesday 8 May due to Bank Holiday)

14 May

21 May

11 June

18 June

We  are  only  able  to  offer  placements  to  one  student  each  week  and demand for placements is extremely high. Priority is given to Harrogate Youth Theatre, Singing and Playwrights members.

What will I do on placement?

There is no such thing as a typical week in theatre and our placements reflect that. Our sample timetable below gives you an idea of how the week might run.

Please note that placements will not include working in wardrobe or stage management. As we are predominantly a receiving house it's unlikely you will see any rehearsals.
