Help us raise £5 million for your theatre

Harrogate Theatre has launched a new major fundraising initiative to raise significant funds to carry out some much needed restoration and refurbishment of this magnificent grade II listed building situated at the heart of the town.

The theatre has undergone careful refurbishment and restoration in previous years and we always strive to make the people of Harrogate proud of this wonderful heritage asset.

However the time has come to undertake essential work once again and so we are preparing ambitious plans to transform our theatre into a 21st century vibrant cultural facility capable of:

  • Developing it’s already acclaimed artistic programme
  • Engaging, serving and inspiring our diverse local community
  • Ensuring accessibilty for all, including physical spaces, shows, and the wider creative programme
  • Contributing considerably to Harrogate’s tourism and cultural economy

We are therefore in the process of preparing a large scale capital bid for the Arts Council to secure essential funds.

However even if we are successful this will only raise 70% of the total needed to undertake the work that this wonderful building both requires and deserves.

There is an overall target of £5 million and it is hoped that the newly restored building will be ready for Harrogate Theatre’s 120th birthday in 2020.

We cannot do this without your help. We welcome your support and donations of any amount for the restoration and refurbishment project will make a difference. You can donate in a number of ways:

  • Online at JustGiving
  • Contact our Box Office on Oxford Street, Harrogate or call 01423 502116.
  • We will also have bucket collections at some of our shows.

Thank you.
