The Levellers: Acoustic
plus special guests Moulettes
Folk-rock band Levellers who
release their tenth studio album, Static On The Airwaves, on
25 June 2012 have announced an intimate and rare 6 date seated tour of theatres
and cathedrals in September including a night at the Harrogate Royal Hall.
Already
being heralded as their most accomplished album to date, Static On The
Airwaves is the sound of a band whose incisive lyrics, innate
musicality and passion have continued to improve rather than diminish in nearly
a quarter of a century of writing, recording and performing.
The Levellers have long been and still are, one of the best
live bands around. Often overlooked is their outstanding back catalogue of
recorded music. The Levellers sold more platinum, gold, and silver albums in
the 1990’s than any other act.
The Levellers Acoustic will
play two sets featuring live favourites and hits from their previous studio
albums plus a few tracks from the highly anticipated new album.

Plus Special Guests: Moulettes
Moulettes' entrancing combination of strings and celestial harmonies; woodwind and weirdness; rhythm and devilry has lead to comparisons with Bellowhead, Kate Bush and Shostakovich. Their charismatic, idiosyncratic brand of modern folk music - which incorporates elements of prog and alt. rock, pop and Classical - has bewitched crowds.
Ex- Moulette Ted Dwane, now of Mumford & Sons has recently returned to the fold to help record the band's acclaimed second album, The Bear's Revenge. Liz Green, long-time friend and collaborator also contributed vocals. Seasick Steve employed violinist Georgina on his latest album and live shows; and cellist Hannah has just recorded and performed with Adrian McNally from The Unthanks. Two Moules are also members of the legendary Crazy World of Arthur Brown. The Moulettes are currently touring with the lovely Arthur.
"Moulettes are among the frontrunners of the new British acoustic scene thanks to their sophisticated, unpredictable approach, matching exquisite female harmony vocals against complex, swirling backing featuring violin, cello and bassoon... Excellent live show... Adventurous, charming... edgy as well as upbeat." The Guardian
"This delicious music is played with acoustic virtuosity... Complex and beautiful... Intriguing and unique" MOJO
