Presented by Reform Theatre in association with Harrogate Theatre
Written by Nick Lane

"You never forget your first fight. And you shouldn't, either."

Tom and Simon have been mates since school; shared everything - homework, cars, girlfriends; you name it, they've both had their hands on it. But whilst Sy has always played it safe, Tom likes to push things to extremes... with occasionally violent repercussions.

After an ill-advised evening with the baby sister of local nutcase Mad Mark Flynn, Sy is starting to worry if Tom might have bitten off more than he can chew. He needs protection. He needs to get out of town. And then he meets Foster. A former boxer with a left hook to die for (or from), Foster takes Tom under his wing. But is there more to his interest than meets the eye? And why won't he talk about his past?

Partly inspired by true events, Reform Theatre are proud to bring you the world premiere of a thrilling new play from the writer of My Favourite Summer and Housebound.

"Throughout the play the focus and the tone shift cleverly... a study of male friendship... From the outset [Keith Hukin, director] sets a rollicking pace and, though he slows up for the more thoughtful scenes, he never allows things to drift." **** Whats On Stage

"A mix of Northern charm and gritty humour... an entertaining affair and well worth seeing. The audience left the theatre full of praise for a good night out." The Public Reviews on Reform Theatre's production of My Favourite Summer, March 2012

"The play is a mix of sparkling one-liners and social commentary.  It is, like the best plays, about both the personal and the social, promising exciting new directions for Nick Lane's work... certainly worth seeing"
The Public Reviews on Reform Theatre's production of Housebound, November 2011
