Retrial follows the style of Sid and James’s previous hour long shows. A narrative based on character comedy, incorporated sketch, original music and fabulously fun word play. A crushing grand finale which the duo rarely escape unscathed. On this occasion, the show doubles as a live trail; a case will be made to the audience who themselves will decide the verdict, leading to a multitude of possible alternative endings.
 
Beneath Slap & Giggle’s idiotic exterior lies a witty, cutting intelligent edge. Reminiscent of the classical vaudeville approach, with added modern bitterness, tragedy, and obscure perspectives thrown into the mix. A story punctuated with hilarious songs, shocking surprises and all the drama found in soap opera standard court cases.
 
Slap & Giggle have had regular guest appearances on BBC Radio Manchester, alongside 4 previous critically acclaimed sell out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe. The duo’s first album of “unrecordable” songs has sold over 200 units. Their second album was released in December 2011.
