A Night at the Opera

Wigan's John Cunningham studied with John Cameron. His career began with the English National Opera, where he performed many diverse principal roles. During his time based in
London, he also performed at The Metropolitan
Opera in New York and the Bolshoi in Moscow, as well as touring throughout the UK. He then joined Opera North
where he regularly tours the UK,
as well as performing in Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona),
Monte Carlo Theatre and Alighieri Theatre (Ravenna).
John has worked with many
leading conductors, and has made time in his busy concert and recital schedule to make a
number of recordings and television broadcasts.
In 2010 he made his debut as a guest principal in Don Carlo at the Royal
Opera House, Covent Garden, and
has subsequently performed principal roles in The Gambler, Salome, Capriccio,
La Rondine and Elektra.
Loiner Joanne Dexter has a BA in Music
from the Royal Scottish Academy
where she won many competitions and awards. She went on to study Italian at the University of Perugia.
She has worked with numerous leading conductors,
directors and composers, including David Parry, Paul Daniel, Wyn Davies, Richard
Farnes, Richard Hickox, Martin Pickard, Dietfried Bernet, Jonathan Dove,
Cecilia McDowall, David McVicar and Stephen Metcalfe.
Her opera credits are extensive, thanks
in part to fruitful spells as a soloist with Opera North, English Touring Opera
and Pavilion Opera.

Dream, opera galas and Bach cantatas, Mozart concert arias (Opera North) Dvorjak’s Stabat Mater with the Liverpool Sinfonia (Wyn Davies) and Vaughan Williams' Sea
Symphony at Durham Cathedral.
and recordings as a soloist include Masterclass with Thomas Allen (BBC),
Leeds Lieder (BBC Radio 3), and Messiah with Halifax and Huddersfield Choral
Societies (BBC Radio 2).
