For Schools

Harrogate Theatre's education department prides itself on developing learning through creativity. Part of the current offer includes a range of history and literacy workshops which can be adapted to suit any primary school key stage, as well as after school clubs which give pupils the opportunity to work towards a performance in Harrogate Theatre’s Studio space. For secondary schools, our Young Reviewers Scheme aims to mentor writers from local schools in the art of reviewing, in association with our local newspaper – the Harrogate Advertiser.

If you are looking to bring a group of pupils to see a show at the Theatres, then don’t forget to read the information provided on the Planning Your Schools Visit section.

We offer week-long work experience placements to students in years 10 and 11 and Sixth Form. Please note: we are not able to offer work experience placements in stage management, wardrobe / makeup, directing or set design. Demand for placements is extremely high. Priority is given to Harrogate Youth Theatre members.

Our dates for work experience in 2020 are w/c 11th May, w/c 1st June, w/c 15th June and w/c 29th June.
