Get ready to Laugh out Loud at Harrogate Comedy Festival 2024
An Unmissable Line-Up of Comedy Legends and Rising Stars.
Harrogate Theatre is thrilled to announce the spectacular line up of its 15th annual Comedy Festival, promising unforgettable performances from some of the biggest names in comedy alongside the brightest new talents. Each year, the festival transforms Harrogate into a hub of laughter and entertainment, celebrating the very best in comedy.
Running from Saturday 21st September to Monday 28th October 2024, the festival will be proudly sponsored by local Harrogate businesses, Vet Dentist and Your Harrogate.
The festival kicks off with Jimmy Carr, known for his razor-sharp wit, presenting his latest stand-up show, Laughs Funny. (Sat 21 Sep) The festival will also welcome TV favourites Andy Parsons (Wed 02 Oct) and Al Murray (Sat 19 Oct) Lucy Beaumont (Thu 24 Oct) and Robert Lindsay (Sat 26 Oct).
Also part of the festival is Laugh Out Proud, London’s brand new LGBTQIA+ comedy night that will feature the best established and upcoming acts from the community (Thu 03 Oct) and Alison Larkin, an acclaimed author and comedian bringing her funny, life-affirming show about love, loss and hope (Tue 08 Oct).
Harrogate Theatre is thrilled to have local comedian Maisie Adam visiting twice during the Comedy Festival. Bringing her brand new show Appraisal to the theatre, (Sat 05 Oct) whilst also being back for the annual Frank’s Fund Comedy Gala. She’ll be joined by some of her funniest famous pals for an unforgettable evening for a brilliant cause (Mon 07 Oct).
Returning to the festival, Kiri Pritchard McLean is set to deliver a standout performance with her new show Peacock, (Sat 12 Oct) and Hyena Lounge Comedy Club will as always, delight audiences with a brilliant line-up of funny stand-ups (Fri 04 Oct). Returning to Harrogate due to popular demand An Evening without Kate Bush is a hilarious homage to the music, fans, and mythology of one of the most influential voices in British music (Thu 10 Oct).
A legendary figure in British comedy, Jimmy Tarbuck (Mon 30 Sep) will bring decades of experience and timeless humour to the stage as he relives many of the most iconic moments of a life on stage and screen. Also looking back at the good old days, beloved for her role in “Hi-de-Hi!”, Su Pollard‘s larger-than-life personality and comedic charm are sure to light up the festival in her show Still Fully Charged. (Wed 09 Oct)
One of the most celebrated stars in British comedy Tez Ilyas brings his hilarious new show to the stage (Thu 10 Oct) and Britain’s most celebrated clairvoyant, Clinton Baptiste will entertain with his hilarious one man stand-up show, Roller Ghoster. (Fri 11 Oct)
We’ve not forgotten our most discerning audiences, the children. This year Comedy Club 4 Kids will provide some of the biggest names in comedy, but without the rude bits (Sun 06 Oct).
Finally, closing the festival is none other than award-winning improvisational group Showstoppers who will yet again delight audiences with a completely original on-the-spot musical comedy based on audience suggestions (Mon 28 Oct).

As an exciting addition to the festival, there will be the launch of a special comedy festival beer in collaboration with Cold Bath Brewery! Stay tuned for the name reveal, and make sure to try a pint at the theatre. Additionally audiences can order a delicious pizza and have it delivered directly to the Harrogate Theatre bar before certain shows in partnership with Pizza Social.
