Harrogate Homeless Project and Harrogate Theatre are excited to be working together to offer a free theatre project in September.

Open to all who have experienced or who are experiencing homelessness or financial hardship it will be a fun, inspiring week and like nothing HHP has done before.  No experience is necessary – we need people who want to perform, want to make props, play music, write scenes etc. – and the performance will be an informal sharing at the end of the week to boost confidence and end the week on a high.

This project is generously supported by The National Lottery Community Fund. National Lottery players raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. The National Lottery Community Fund distributes a share of this to projects to support people and communities to prosper and thrive.

Hannah Draper, Director of Creative Engagement at Harrogate Theatre said “We’ve been working with Harrogate Homeless Project since 2018 running drama workshops for service users to build confidence and have a creative outlet. In such tough times we’re pleased to be able to reach out to more members of our community to take part in activities with us for free, thanks to National Lottery players.”

Giuliano Achilli, Support Team Manager at Harrogate Homeless Project said “It doesn’t matter if you’ve never engaged with Harrogate Homeless Project before, you’ll be made to feel really welcome. It’s a project for anyone struggling financially to spend a bit of time doing something which will boost your confidence, introduce you to new people and give you a chance to create something special.”

The project runs Monday 5 – Friday 9 September 1.30pm – 6pm at Springboard each day. You are welcome to drop in a for a couple of hours or commit to the whole week. To sign up email [email protected] or call G on 073920 13866.
