New Trustees for Harrogate Theatre

Harrogate Theatre is pleased to announce the appointment of three dynamic new trustees to its Board.

Darcey Lawton-Buckle is the Operations Manager of a premium fashion retailer. She developed her love for the arts attending Harrogate Theatre’s famous pantomimes whilst studying at university in Birmingham. She is passionate about helping young people discover and enjoy the theatre which she wants to help cement as a focal point for the community.

Isabel Trigoso lives and works in the town and is involved with a number of groups and organisations including Harrogate Film Society, Young Person’s Cinema, Women Winning and Harrogate Library. She is a staunch advocate for the importance of live theatre and performance and is keen to support the board’s strategic outreach and audience development goals.

Jeanette Wilson was a teacher for 40 years and a senior leader in secondary schools across Yorkshire for 30 years. She continues her involvement in education as a governor at a local high school, an educational consultant and a mentor to trainee teachers. Jeanette’s expertise will strengthen the work of the creative engagement department in providing opportunities to learn through creativity.

Chair of the Board, Ann Green CBE, who was appointed to the Board last year, commented:

“We are really fortunate to be able to attract such skilled members of our community to join the Board. Their diverse expertise, experience and above all their passion for the power of live performance stood out at interview and we are looking forward to working closely with them in their new roles.”

Ann herself is an experienced Board Chair and non-executive director/trustee, having worked with a number of charitable organisations for over 25 years. She believes strongly in the availability of the performing arts to all so everyone can have the opportunity to participate and enjoy all that culture has to offer. In 2010 she was awarded the CBE for services to museums.

Completing the Board are Kirk Wilber-Moran, Cllr Chris Aldred, Amanda Cains, Jonathan Mortimer, Robert Ogden and Cllr Paula Stott.
