Historically an interval bar, The Circle Bar at Harrogate Theatre will open daytimes again from this week, offering a new space to enjoy great coffee and teas, freshly baked cakes, beers, gins and more. Initially this will just be on a Friday and Saturday 10am-4pm, but it’s hoped that the opening times will be increased later this year if enough people come through our doors.
As part of this initiative, our brilliant team has been busy revamping the range of drinks we offer, adding local craft gins and expanding our beer selection. We’ve also invested in a commercial barista coffee machine and a set of new comfy chairs, bar stools and other furniture to create just the right ambience. As well as superb coffee, we’ll also have tasty cakes, plenty of plug sockets if you need them for your phone or laptop, and we can offer free guest wifi. If you’re lucky enough to grab a seat in one of our new chairs at the far end of the bar area next to the huge windows, you can literally sit and watch the world go by for hours on end.
We’re really proud to be able to offer this lovely new space for people to meet – either for business, socially, or just as a post-shopping pit stop. If you are planning a work meeting, or a social gathering for a few, we’re also happy to reserve an area for you.
The Circle Bar is something of a heritage spectacle, offering a unique space to sit and relax, with ornate features and the chance to take a peek at the magnificent main auditorium during your visit. With 119-years of history to boast about, The Circle Bar at Harrogate Theatre is a café bar with quite a few stories to tell. We’ll be using the wall space in the bar to display some of the gems we’ve found in the Harrogate Theatre archive, too.
There are plans in progress to utilise the front exterior of the theatre with a small ‘street café’, licence permitting. In addition, we are looking at a programme of events for The Circle Bar, including live music sessions and networking events – keep your eyes on our social media for all the latest updates.
One final point to make – probably the most important one - Harrogate Theatre is a registered charity so when you spend money at The Circle Bar you’re also supporting the town’s culture and heritage. We’re really proud of the space we’ve created, and we’d love for you to gather your friends and pay us a visit. In the meantime please help us spread the word – The Circle Bar is back open for business!
