General Audition Call Out
Harrogate Theatre would like to meet actors with a registered postcode within 25 miles of Harrogate who have at least one professional production credit and/or accredited drama school training.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
We want to meet talented local people and widen our knowledge of local artists. Whilst we are primarily a receiving house for touring shows, we are also proud to produce our hugely successful pantomime, co-produce a Rep season and nurture companies making their own work through an associate artist scheme, so we are always on the look-out for exceptional talent.
To help us get to know local actors, we are holding General Auditions on Tuesday 11 June at Harrogate Theatre. General Auditions are not designed with a particular production or role in mind, but they are a chance for local actors to meet local directors and producers so they can be considered for future opportunities.
Applications will close on Tuesday 28 May 12noon. To apply please send your CV/spotlight link and covering email/letter (max 200 words) which includes your name, email address, phone number and postcode to email@example.com or General Audition Application, Harrogate Theatre, Oxford Street, Harrogate, HG1 1QF
If you have any access requirements please let us know in your covering letter so we can make appropriate adjustments to accommodate your needs.
WHO IS IT FOR?
We are looking for local actors aged 18+ with a registered postcode within 25 miles of Harrogate.
We want to cast actors from all cultural groups and all ethnicities. We also want to provide opportunities for actors with disabilities or impairments to be cast in our productions. We will prioritise meeting actors who we have not met before. We have limited audition slots available and will meet a cross-section of applicants.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When the application deadline has passed we will let you know whether you have been selected for an audition slot.
Each slot will involve a 10-min relaxed chat/audition with Phil Lowe (Director and Programmer), Porl Cooper (Associate Producer with responsibility for Associate Artist scheme), Phil Stewart (Phil&Ben Productions) and Rachael Halliwell (Harrogate Theatre Associate Artist). You will need to perform a piece of your choice, which should be no longer than three minutes. If you would like to sing you may do so acapella or please bring a backing track with you.
We are only able to offer feedback during the audition so please ask any questions you have or request any feedback in the room.
We will then let you know as and when any future opportunities come up.
We look forward to meeting you.
