Harrogate Theatre to receive a significant grant from Arts Council England’s Emergency Response Fund

We are grateful for the announcement today that we will receive a significant grant from Arts Council England’s Emergency Response Fund, covering losses incurred between March and September this year. This funding is a statement of our value to the theatre industry and our local area and we could not be more thankful.

Since the safety curtain was dropped on Harrogate Theatre more than 1,200 friends have donated over £60,000 to our survival. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Harrogate Borough Council, our stakeholders and every single person who contributed to our Emergency Appeal in this time, your support has been nothing short of incredible.

As the impact of this pandemic continues to develop it is important to recognise that our exit strategy from this crisis still remains uncertain. Whilst it is not known when we will be able to host live performances again, we will continue to take care of our staff including freelancers, our supported artists and the wide range of young people we work with.

To ensure that we remain a beacon of support in our community for generations to come, we need to fundraise further. We are optimistic that we will raise our safety curtain once again, to do so we will continue to ask for your support and kindness.

Thank you from all the team at Harrogate Theatre.
