The Dante Quartet is known for its imaginative programming and impassioned performances. The Quartet was founded in 1995 and chose its name to reflect the idea of an epic and adventurous journey.

It will be playing one of Haydn’s Op. 33 'Russian' quartets, dedicated to Grand Duke Paul of Russia; a middle-period Beethoven quartet, also dedicated to a Russian (Prince Andrey Razumovsky); and Smetana’s intimate and introspective first quartet 'from my life'.

'The Dante is one of those rare quartets where you can sense the personalities of the individual players as much as appreciate the common bond that ties their

interpretations together.' The Telegraph
