Putteridge Bury Gilbert & Sullivan Society was founded in 1971 and this will be their fifth visit to the Gilbert & Sullivan Festival.
When two Venetian Gondoliers are told that one of them is the King of Barataria they leave their newly married wives to find out who it is. Chaos ensues when they meet Casilda, who one of them married when a baby, meaning three wives instead of two.
Throw in the Spanish Inquisition, a skint Duke and Duchess, and a secret pair of lovers and confusion reigns supreme.
With one of the longest musical opening numbers in theatre history, memorable tunes such as A Pair of Sparkling eyes and When a Merry Maiden Marries, as well as a host of dances including the Spanish Cachuca, 'The Gondoliers' is full of entertainment for everyone.
The Gondoliers is one of the most popular shows at the Festival and is sure to get our matinee programme in Harrogate Theatre off to a flying start.
Don't miss it!
