Young Reviewers Scheme(YRS)
In 2012 Harrogate Theatre's education department in association with local newspaper The Harrogate Advertiser launched the Young Reviewers Scheme, mentoring the finest writing talent from our local secondary schools in the art of reviewing.
The young reviewers are invited to review three or four performances over the academic year with the top review each time being published in the The Harrogate Advertiser. The group receive feedback from our Head of Communications, Rachel Auty, who has more than 18 years experience in her field and has written for and been published across a broad spectrum of media titles.
The schools we are currently working with include:
Ashville College; Grammar School at Leeds; Harrogate High School; Harrogate Grammar School; Harrogate Ladies College; St Aidan’s C of E High School; Gateways; and King James’ School.
One of our young reviewers from the inaugural cycle of the scheme has gone on to write freelance reviews for The Harrogate Advertiser.
To get your school involved in the next Young Reviewers cycle, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
